With the recent release of a few new browsers, which do you now use and why?

opera 9.51
started using it since version 7.0 or something ff sucked back than (at least for me), ie...crappy? opera is still nr. 1 browser for me! i'm now regularly updating to "weekly builds", and it's all that i need. but i'm still using a bit of ff 2/3 (i'm currently testing mozilla minefield x64) and ie 6/7. mostly because i do web programming and i have to check layouts :P |

Firefox. However, I have found some annoying bugs on FF3 (such as ALT-S no longer working on forums if there is more than one Submit Button - like here!) and new pages opening in new windows no matter what the setting. Still, I'm sticking w/ FF.

ie7 for me. however FF2/3 > ie6. why? simply because of the tabbed browsing, lol.
the ALT + S feature never worked for me on FF2 or FF3 on forums. |

IE7 with the Maxthon shell. It has its quirks but also lots of good things that I've gotten accustomed to.

IE7, quick, fast, easy. comes with windows vista also so its well integrated. I don't like using too much third party software unless i really need it or if MS software sucks (its getting better).

Anyway, FF3 here as well. I tried the new Opera and it had several nice features FF didn't, but it was annoying. Sometimes, it wouldn't load the entire page (usually when uTorrent was working, but it didn't happen with other browsers), or it would take forever to load some page completely. The latter mostly occurs with pages like Facebook profiles and is normal, but while it's possible to use the pages even when not 100% finished in other browsers, things often didn't work in Opera until it had downloaded all 800+ images that the page contained. It also has an aggressive caching mechanism which causes it to display outdated images (I'm working on a webapp that displays charts to help analyze network traffic, and this can be a real pain). So after 3-4 days, I'm back with FF. |

Been using Opera as my primary browser since 5.12.
And have had Mozilla installed since Phoenix days, monitoring progress, in case it becomes worth switching to.

IE7, because it works everywhere and for the same reason as the 'Pimpsta - don't want to install third party apps when Microsoft has a good program built in.
Plus, it's the defacto standard against which all others are judged - necessary for familiarity and support to see and work on the internet as most others do - savvy enthusiasts aside... Also Safari 3, had two options been available.

Opera 9.5 is my main browser on both Vista and OSX, i occasionally use Safari on OS X and IE 7 (vista) for sites that don't like Opera (usually my bank websites)

That's strange Iria, I don't have a problem at all with things opening in new windows. Mine always either open in the same tab or in a new tab depending on the link and how I click it. I'm using FF 3.0 final with only a DPI tweak done, and adblock plus (which I've disabled on this website along with a few others...hey, if I can't afford to donate the least I can do is let the ads load :P )

My main browsers are Firefox 3 at work and SeaMonkey at home. I use SeaMonkey because it's a natural continuation of previous browsers (Mozilla, Netscape) that I used before. I find it convenient to have everything in one app in a familar way, though I admit that Firefox is a better browser.
I had Opera as my main browser in the Opera 6 days (or maybe it was 5?), but since later versions reduced the convenience of browsing with windows inside a big window (in particular, dropping the ability to control window size), I didn't stick with it. I'm going to try 9.50, but Opera hasn't managed to entice me back since that point. |

I love Internet Explorer -- it does everything I need a browser to do, looks nice, and I looooove the tabbed browsing and search in a really easy interface.
I don't know, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. ![]() lol.

To Swimtech, ExitiosuS and others that use IE because they won't fix what's not broken: IE is broken. I'm not trying to make you change your browsing habbits, I just have to say that as I'm experiencing it first hand. The only reason many web pages work correctly with IE is that the developers spend (waste) a not that small portion of their time trying to make things that work in all other browsers work in IE.
P.S. Implementation of tabbed browsing in IE7 really is good, I haven't used it much for awhile, but I remember that there are some nice touches like remembering the typing language for each tab separately so I dont have to Alt+Shift every time I switch tabs.. |

I used opera because of it's wand password
I don't think fire fox has a good one thats why I love opera so much. If they fix that firefox I might go back to it. But to I see password wand in firefox if not i Stick with opera.

I've been using Opera since the 5.x days. Firefox has evolved into a very promising browser, but everything Firefox did with extensions back in the early 2.x days... Opera did years earlier
