Re: Windows 7 RC1 Candidate

I'm running build 7100 on a Dual P3, 1.2ghz with 512 of ram....... works alright but strapped by lack of newer drivers. System is from around 2000 or 2001, dual booting with XP............ in this instance XP is faster than Win7 probably due to the driver issue.

Win7 doesn't do SCSI drives as a native drive. SCSI Boot is not possible...... LOL! If anybody cares....... Works okay booting from IDE and loading a SCSI driver after, but disk access suffers.

First time I've seen microsoft's supplied Audigy drivers work though, the beta ones used to BSOD the system I tried the beta on months ago...... The RC uses newer drivers..... they are working on it, that's for sure.

I'm still running Vista, but when Windows 7 comes out, I'll definitely be upgrading!

Re: Windows 7 RC1 Candidate

Spent the last day making the full switch to Win7, after a month of trialling I really see no further need to stick with Vista, XP hasn't been on my system since the launch of Vista. Nothing but positives to report on Win7, even gaming performance is identical and in some cases better. Can't believe this is still just a RC.
