Re: What are you thinking for your next Graphics Card?

Ordered myself an XFX HD5870 XXX the other day. Paid too much for it too.

Damn you boxing day sales and not having time to check prices w/ other sites.

Re: What are you thinking for your next Graphics Card?

Using EVGA GTX 280 1GB @ 729/1512/2592 MHz so I'm in no need for a new card atm, I've planned to camp for some refreshed series of Fermi maybe sth like 8800GT was compared to 8800 GTX/GTS cards or until GTX 360 would get cheaper as I don't pay more than like 300€ max for a gfx card. Need to go nvidia route due to ATI having problems with 120Hz LCDs so far.

I have already chosen - GTS250. I will probably also get GT300 when it comes out, skipping 58xx.

Re: What are you thinking for your next Graphics Card?

I am still a little miffed with Nvidia for buying, then killing Uli chipsets. and it is just simpler to use ATI drivers with all the other ATI cards I have. Currently I only have a Nvidia XFX 6800GS and Nvidia 6150 onboard video and they are good parts, but I have a dozen ATI cardswith the pride of the fleet an aging MSI 3870.

I believe I will buy a 5870 as they near replacement.... I want a DX11 part.

Sell most if it. Ended up canceling the order for the HD5870 though. I want something to fold w/. And ATI cards are awful at that.

Re: What are you thinking for your next Graphics Card?

I've waited last year for the release of the radeon 5700 series card and grabbed a Radeon 5770. It may be slower than competing directX 10 cards but at least it's got low power consumption.

No. I sell them on Canadian hardware forums generally.

Waiting for PCI-Express 3 to come out. By then, USB 3 and SATA 3 will be de-facto standards, too, so I get to build a whole new machine

Re: What are you thinking for your next Graphics Card?

I bought a Sapphire 5770 last month, it was all I could afford with DX11 and moderately reasonable performance

I am thinking that I might get a 5770 later , just to see how much better is DX11.

Re: What are you thinking for your next Graphics Card?

For the most part, I didn't notice the difference between my 4870 -> 5870 in BFBC2. Except for the higher settings and frame rates...

End of this school term I might grab another DX11 game

Ouch, quick and cuts like a knife. Definitely true though. Still, even a month on the same poll is too long.
