I won't say no to added functionality even though I may not intend on using it in every case. It shows what ATi 'is made of' with this kind of development behind the Catalyst driver suite. I don't mean to sound like a kiss arse or an ATi apostle; but I really am satisfied with their product and the support behind it.
New features are good features (unless they break something )

[COLOR=Silver]I have to think it's a great "concept" and the more control the user has is for the better.I just would like to reserve judgement until it is actually available for the end user.I really hope they also can deliver the new CCC with the ability to disable the splash screen and preview screen but I understand these things can take time.Great work ATI ,at least in preview, so far.ATI,it's these times of honesty and understanding of what your customers want that really make you stand head and shoulders above the competition ,at least in My eyes.Thank you. First of all i am glad that ATI is doing more to satisfy there customers. I will wait and see when this AI comes out. Several questions come to mind, like will this hog up ram? Will this AI increase the temp of the card? This is what i like about ATI monthly drivers, new ideas and looks out for its customers. This is why i will stay with ATI. Even though i wish that several companies **Cough*** like UBI, would look out for there customers.

I allways prefer to try it first and then comment, that way i can talk about something i have experienced and not BS about it.

The more control the better obviously- Just don't sacrifice old controls for new controls.

I'm the same with most of you guys. I want to try it, before I comment on it.

the more options we get to choose from the better, obviously, although it doesn't seem very useful as it defaults to the best setting anyway..
personally i think they churned it out in an attempt to justify the not so popular CCC

As long as I (and hardware review sites) can turn it off, I'm willing to give it a shot. But, except for AA, IQ isn't a THAT big of a thing for me, I'm usually too busy trying to survive the game then stare at the pretty pictures.

I prefer to try it first before commenting on it, I didn't like the "old" new cp, so if it is like that, then I won't be using it.

[X] I think its a great concept, the more control we have the better!
Drivers equipped with Catalyst A.I. (4.10+) outperform their older brothers in almost every application and do not kill any quality--it can't get much better. Only the "Advanced"-setting isn't very useful IMHO 'cause the textures suffer of unwanted blurring in many cases. Greetings from Germany, Raff

![]() Especially in Half-Life² and Serious Sam 2nd Encounter you can see the difference. Greetings from Germany, Raff

Do you have an image-viewer where you can switch between 2 pictures via mousewheel? With Irfanview it works nice.
After saving and opening them look at the stonefloor and the light in the sky in Serious Sam. Quite obvious I think. Greetings, Raff

That is a very nice article, but I gotta say I cannot see anything in those comparative screenshots that look like worse image quality with advanced AI. Maybe slightly different only in the Serious Sam screen- but nothing I could say is "reduced" Image quality. I use Normal AI for Richard burns rally, Advanced seems to cause stuttering sometimes. I will keep trying it out with every now driver though.

I agree with you with the fact that it's only a marginal difference--but the quality is definetely a little worse. If you take a look at the screens closely, you'll see what I mean.
![]() For example the already mentioned SeSam: the stonefloor with A.I. @ advanced has an other color than on the screen with A.I. @ standard. There's also a difference in sharpness in the foreground (hope it's the right word ) .. and the lighting looks kinda "compressed" (except the compression artifacts thanks to JPG which can be seen on both screens ).Or Half-Life²: Focus on the wall at the left of the screen und switch between the two pics. The shot made with advanced-A.I. shows a little blur there, the texture-sharpness is reduced. Ok, if you don't know how it looks with A.I. @ off or standard, you wouldn't notice I think. But in fact, there's a reduction in image quality ... and optimizations like that aren't very popular. Greetings, Raff

Yeah I guess people with really fast cards can just turn it off. I will use it if I can get some more speed out of my OLD 9700pro with out too much IQ loss
