Nicely balanced, except for the 101-200 zone, which cuts the 48 bit LBA barrier

eg. 120Gb, 48 bit not required, 160/200 Gb 48 bit LBA support needed.

I'd suspect that 120Gb are more strongly represented in that group than anything else.

51-100 - probably 99% 80Gb drvies
31-50 - probably 99% 40Gb drives
11-30 - could be split between 20Gb and 15Gb drives
1-10 - a wide category, covering 1Gb drives that were the top of their range, plus 2Gb, 4Gb and others
Under 1Gb - amazed a 5 votes so far from people HERE - DH is normally the "hot computer" zone.

I'm also guessing, though perhaps it may make another poll, that the majority have only one drive.

Possible poll choices - in your current system, number of HD.

One - as bought/built
One, upgraded with removal of smaller
New large drive and old smaller drive.
Pair of drives, non-RAID
Pair of drives, RAID
More than 2, non-RAID
More than 2, RAID

160 x 2 (Coming very soon in my rig)
80 x 2 (Bro's rig)
40 (My laptop)
---------
520 GB

This is excluding my 30 GB, I have in a caddy for school.

Here's the real kicker, I'm very conservative on space. I rarely store stuff unless I need it and all my rigs are pr0n free.

Performance storage is not too expensive today if one just buy at the right level. Take for instance the Samsung 160GB SATA's wich are fast, very low on noise, comparatively low on heat and not too expensive though not the very cheapest. For some it may begin to feel small with drives around 120-160GB, but if the case can hold a couple of drives then its about the right level to go for on price/performance. I only wish my current mobo had more than two SATA ports, but I'll make sure the next one has at least four.

I hate flopping discs. The first thing I do with a game I just purchased is trying to find out how to make a good image of it. If storage space was not limited I would do the same with all movies.
