Yeah it still amazes me why companies bother to put an intel extreme gfx card in. Its unfortunate trading standards can't do them for the name :S cause the extreme is open to interpretation. Anyway surely its as cheap to use a Radeon9000?

Well I've got a Dell Inspiron 8600c with a Radeon 9600 Pro Turbo it plays a mean game of Doom3/HL2 and UT2004 and plays tetris like it was hard coded onto the chip

I must get my dad to come and vote on here too has mac has a mac radeon mobility 9000

My laptop had a Mobility 9700 Pro, it was pretty decent but laptops for gaming just don't cut it, so I got rid of it.

Actually, while I agree with you, I think intels extreme graphics system is wonderful for business or general non gaming use. Its a totally rock solid system with great 2D IQ.

Well, all my friends own Ge force go's, mostly the FX series, so when I do play their laptops, I use Nvidia gfx.

But if I got my own laptop, it'd have to have the new mobolity X700 that ATI's about to release!!!

Lame Poll.............like you have a choice. You buy a laptop and for the most you dont get a choice, nor can you change it with 99% of laptops after you buy it. I would not make my purchase of a laptop soley based on its video card.

Also its a known fact that ATI has more market share for laptops....so you could have predicted your poll results before you setup the poll.

Of course driverheaven is ATI's PR Biatch.....so showing a poll that has ATI ahead is right up your ally.

Very few can upgrade. More are moving in that direction, but usually only the top end of a vendor.

yup its possible, back when I ordered the XPS in May of last year, Dell was touting that for a nominal fee I can upgrade to the mobility radeon 9800 when it became available. also, the price of the card includes the install of the card by a dell certified tech.

I belive you. That said, of all the laptops sold, I would bet that 99% of them are NOT chosen for their video card. I bet things like price, size, battery life etc are way more important than gaming and video cards.

I am a manager of a IT department at a telco, and I had my choice of any Dell laptop I wanted....including the XPS. I chose a D600 because of its size and wieght. I wanted a gig of RAM to run virual PC on it for testing server OS's. I considered a 9100 at the time...right up until we got one in for a developer. I used it for a day.....and its battery life and size where just not for me.

I game, but on my home PC with a 6800GT and a 3.4E cpu....both of which would kill a laptop in terms of battery life and size.
