I've got a DS, and I havent even seen a PSP due to Sony buggering up the UK release of it, That, and the fact that the touch screen has such potential to it (as does the mic, heh) And as im not interested in Watching videos on the move and I have an iPod, the DS wins,

I wouldn't buy any but I voted ds. The psp battery life would get me down.

I like them both, but the PSP eventually pulls ahead because of it's capabilities, and availability of good games.

The PSP is too fragile for a portable gaming device, IMO. Awesome graphics mean nothing if a system is built poorly and is prone to defects and failures. Sony's first Playstation taught me that. The spindle that holds the disk shattered and fell apart within 1 year of owning it...and I'm careful with my toys. Sony wanted to charge way too much to fix it, I bought a used one cheaper than they were trying to charge me to fix it (don't rem how much, that was like 7 or 8 years ago
). The used one only lasted about 7 months before it started failing to read the disks. No more Sony cheapness for me. Nintendo is pretty famous for making durable systems, which has become very important to me in light of the PS1 failures. The dual screens on the DS is kinda gimmicky, but the touchscreen is pretty nice. You just have to sift through all the cutesy crap to find the decent games, which is Nintendo's only real problem. I hear that their customer service is very good. I wouldn't know, I never had to use it. My old original SNES STILL WORKS. I vote DS. I own a DS. I don't really use it for "gaming on the go" like some little kid (I'm 37), it's more like "gaming on the crapper" or while soaking away my aches and pains in the tub from a hard day's work. Backwards compatibility with GBA games means I instantly have a library of hundreds of games to play on it....right now. No waiting around for new games to be released. Since I already had 20+ GBA games and a GBA SP (which still works, even after a couple of years of abusing it), the DS was a no-brainer for me.

I think Sony wins by far. Youll gain no respect going into work trying to show off the "Fisher Price - My First Handheld" (DS) with its yet another mario game. The PSP is the lottery winners handheld that make work collegues youve never seen before come out of the woodwork
. The difference with psp is that yet another ridgeracer never fails to impress
