The Logitech MediaPlay mouse.

Love this thing, great for my laptop in every way. The battery life in itself is outstanding(Reaching from 3-8 weeks on my rechargables), the performance is perfect and has never waivered from my expectations. This mouse has performed flawlessly in every circumstance I've placed it in, and the USB connector, ideal for laptops, matches the skin of my laptop. Also, it's the size required for maximum in mobility. (Like, two inches or so from connector up.)

Excellent mouse. I've only owned Logitech; so, my opinion may contain bias. However, if I was to choose a mouse outside of Logitech, it would most definitely be Microsoft...as I know others who have used this mouse that I've had the fortune to use for short periods of time and found that it was a reliable mouse.

never use software that comes with a keyboard or mouse..... what's the point?

Because if you don't half the buttons don't work and arent configureable as in the case of some of the logitech mice that have more buttons than a keyboard.

I replaced my Logitech MouseMan Optical about 6 months ago with a MX1000. The old mouse had served me great for 6 years or so and I hope the MX1000 will last just as long.
My only complaint is the scroll wheel which can be a bit twitchy sometimes. It should have more resistance and more noticeable clicks, like the MX510 has. Other than that it is fantastic.

I don't know about the newest MS mice but every time I've put my hands on one before I have really hated the buttons. They are too easy to click unintentionally. Maybe I'm just too clumsy but it annoys me a lot!

logitech LX 300 keyboard mouse combo.

love 'em both! The keyboard has a very "Crisp" key function... I like that... while Im typing, I can FEEL that I depressed the key all the way... (helps me spell things... since I suck at it anyway )

Logitech mx510, func surface and anti friction spray.
Don't like the mx1000, tried it, you have to lift it more off the surface for it not to register movement. This is a pain for me in low sens games, like eg. CSS.

PS. shouldn't it be what brand of mouse do you game with?

From in order, MX500 to a MS Intellimouse 4, MX510 and now a MX518.
Theirs not much dif over a MX500 to a MX510. But the MX518 is something else. 1600DPI which can be changed on the fly, so fast, makes all the dif playing in 1024x768.
I love my FPS's so i'm a mouse nut!

rofl... good to know I'm not the only freak around here using a wireless trackball.... although mines the logitech with like 8 buttons... have had 2 of em for awhile and after long hours of ut2004 and a few drops from the desktop they are in dire need of some help... hehe actually it's just the main big left click that has intermittance issues so I had 2 rearrange my button styles is all... but still works like a champ otherwise!

MX1000 and nothing less, battery life is impressive, and you can switch the mouse off for those times you want to go lanning. Response is fantastic. Logitech is still clearly ahead in this arena, its only right handed but ver comfortable, good rubber rest for the thumb and enough buttons plus side scrolling...

exclamation

I use a Microsoft Trackball Explorer. It provides much more freedom of movement than a mouse and you can say goodby to all the hand/rist problems associated with a mouse (like carpal tunnel syndrome). I also have a Microsoft Intellimouse Explorer, but I never use it.
