No audio input using kx drivers

Hi all, i apologise in advance if this question has been asked and answered before. I did have a quick look..
I've just started using ableton, its a cool program for sure but I can't get any asio audio input into it using the kx drivers. I can get direct x input but with a huge time lag. I've never had any problem getting asio sound from my mixing desk into adobe audition but i need to make the move to ableton because audition is hopeless for midi work.
At the moment i have to record my audio in audition then export them into ableton and vise versa with the midi. What a hassle, especially considering sometimes ableton takes WAY to long to render it's tracks. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

ASIO in works only with 48k sampling rate
set it in ASIO settings to "16bit/48Khz 16+16" (in/out I guess)

cheers

Hi Geert.v, i'm pretty sure i tried those settings but i'll check it out again when i get home. Also, can anyone tell me why it sometimes takes so long to render tracks? I have no problem at all playing the tracks if i try to render something down to a single stereo track it can take around 45 minutes! this is totally unacceptable for any sort of productive working situation. I'm not even talking about having ableton loaded way beyond my cards capacity. Just a couple of softsynths such as battery and ni grand piano and if i try to render the grand piano, it takes 45 minutes. ouch. somethings wrong somewhere. I really want to sort out these problems because ableton is a really cool intuitive friendly program to use.

Unfortunately these are the settings i have been using. No audio in whatsoever, although i can get audio in with adobe audition. Someone please help!

it is kind of sad but since no solution has been forthcoming i've taken some advice and uninstalled the kx driver. I'm now running youp-pax with asio4all and get audio in to ableton no probs! i really do like the kxdriver but it's just too complicated for a layman like me.
