SB LIVE! 5.1 - How to set the drivers propertly in W7?
Hi,
I'm having a huge problem right now with my Soundblaster live! 5.1 and Windows 7. I always use either stereo speakers OR headphones, so no real surround. I used to use the emulated surround by KX on Windows XP with great result in games, etc. Now, when I try to do so with windows 7, the sound is messed up. If i set KX drivers to no surround, then there is no sound at all. If I set to copy surround, then it's very hissy and watery, dirty and unlistenable. If i set the surround emulation, then depending on the way I set the parameters I either get the awful sound like when using copy mode, or somehow I lose some parts of the sound I should hear. For instance, when I listen to stereo music from an mp3 in winamp, I get some instruments and parts perfectly cut out, like if it was some multi-track file that can be manipulated. WTF? Please, tell me, how to set the drivers so that nothing is cut and I could hear everything, AND not have it distorted with all that warttery hiss? ED: okay, found it. de-noise for kxdrivers Seems it solves the problem
