Big Grin Estudio Drummond (Brazil) presents...

Ok, now I've got a new free website that can be accessed outside Brazil.

http://planeta.terra.com.br/educacao...aniel/estudio/

There you'll find 2 songs recorded in my home studio with Cubase, sblive and KX drivers:

1) Logika Romantika

This is an original song by Mr. Silva. They are my friends and have asked me to help them remixing one of the songs in their debut album, so it could be played in local radios and night clubs. It's a dance mix.

2) Não Deixe a Música Acabar

Two friends and I got together to try to compose and record something. This was the result. I really like this song, specially the recorder, flute and electric bass parts. Check it out. It's a kind of rock, with a bit of a thrill touch, James Bond, Batman and something else...

Both songs are available as a "hi-fi" mp3 file (almost 3mb) or a "lo-fi" wma file (less than 1mb!). I made two version because I'm on a dial-up and know how painful it is to download big files just to discover they were not what you expected. This way you can listen to the lo-fi version and if you like it, download the hi-fi one and enjoy a better quality sound.

If you listen and have comments, please let me know! Good or bad ones!

Great songs....!!

Especialy 'Não Deixe a Música Acabar'.
What a relief to hear some real musicians play instead of entirely computer generated music only.
Ok, I'm biased here. I'm not into Techno stuff, so no offense to ppl who do make Techno.

Also, a relief to hear real 'normal' vocals again.

I also liked 'Logika Romantika' . Sounded quite pro.
And of course the female vocals. I've always loved Brazilian vocals.
Beautifull sounding language!

As for critics;
Nothing important really. Only thing I noticed was the narrow stereo field of
the lead vocals reverb on both tracks. Could be personal taste though.

Anyway, I enjoyed it a lot...

Regards,

/LeMury

Thanks!

Thanks for your comments! I'll try to work out the stereo field of the lead vocals reberb better in other tracks (I'll also experiment with these ones). It is indeed a nice suggestion. It's great that you enjoyed the songs! Those vocals were sung in brazilian portuguese. If you want to hear more of that girls singing (Natália), check out her bands website www.mrsilva.com.br where they have soundclips of all the songs in their CD, including the original recording of Logika Romantika (it sells for R$15,00, which is about US$5,00).

Daniel D:

I really liked Não Deixe a Música Acabar! That Bass really sound vry good. Was that a real electric bass guitar?

I might have to devote myself to the KX drivers cause that really sounded Professional.

Thanks Thomas! Yes, that was a real bass, a fender jazz bass in fact. I ran it through my Mackie mixer and direct into the livedrive and recorded it. Afterwards I used the amplitube VST plugin to make 2 different bass sounds, one which is more harsh and distorted and another one cleaner, rounder and bassier. In different parts of the song I switched between those 2 amplitube effects. Yes, I'm also impressed how much of a good sound can be achieved with KX drivers and a sblive! I don't have money for more expensive gear (specially now that I got married), but I achieve with this setup results that I think are good enough. Not the best available in the world, for sure, but good enough! That's why we have to thank KX gods for turning creative's hardware into something really useful and that's why I think this part of the forum is great: it shows that what counts is not big bucks gear, but mainly creativity, inspiration and KX drivers... heheh

Hi Daniel,

Perhaps you can translate http://www.mrsilva.com.br/logika.htm to english? It doesn't have to remain a song, it's just that I would really like to know what it means.

Second, is there a chance of getting full remix of it, as a RAR-ed original WAV file?

Judging by the replies, I guess I am the only one that can't listen to the music. When I click on MP3 links I get a blank page. When I click on the WMA link, I get the message from MEDIA PLAYER,

"Cannot open. Please verify that the path and filename are correct and try again."

But apparently others aren't having this problem.

The site is up and running and I have included a new version of Não deixe a música acabar (new mix taking into consideration the opinions given here and the problems I've found with the last one). Hope you enjoy!
