new song from Zimbo

Hello people! Hello kx-team!

Sorry for the bad English - It's from a translator.

I have a song made with Cubase SX and VSTi's. The drums, the bass and the lead instruments go over the SX output-busses to in each case a EQ5 then to the APSComp Rev and finally to the FXMix. Subsequently, I have mastered the Song in Wavelab. I do not have good monitors and have always some problems with the bass.

Therefore I wait now for your comments. Thanks.

Zimbo's new Song

Thanks for the great kx-drivers! It's a good work!

Hey, nice job! Remembers me of Jean Michel Jarre... Is there a good reason to send the instruments through the EQ5 and APSComp and then through FXMix instead of adding effects and exporting them directly in Cubase? Oh, by the way, the bass sounds fine here.

Hello Daniel

Thanks for your comment.
I love Jean Michel Jarre, Tangerine Dream, Klaus Schulze etc. It's a great music.

>>Is there a good reason to send the instruments through the EQ5 and APSComp and then through FXMix instead of adding effects and exporting them directly in Cubase?

It's somewhat more work, because one must recording up the groups. But the sound is great.
I have made this with Wave Plugins before.

EQ5 has a very warm sound. Also the APS Compressor is much warmer and makes much more power, I think.

My standard Setup:
SX channel 1-6 goes to in each case a EQ5 and a APS Comp.
SX channel 7+8 goes to Reverb and Chorus.
Then I have a 8-Kanal stereo mixer with 2 mono inputs (e.g. bass and bass-drum) instead of "xrouting". That goes to the output. If the sound should be more "analog", it goes first to a tube sound plugin. I feel it's not a comparison to software-plugins.

I hope, that you can understand my "translator-english" - sorry!

So, let's make good music

You mean that the sound is better when using your method instead of using plugins. Now I got it. Well, maybe I should give it a try sometime. For now I have not been using KX effects. Only plugins. But you may have a good point there. Your song surely sounded nice. Your english is fine as far as I can tell. I speak portuguese as first language...

It's worth an attempt to use kx-plugins. If you try it tell me your opinion.
But I heard also your Songs. The Songs and the sound are great!
At the end however it is no matter, with which plugins the sound is made, if it is good.
Nevertheless your opinion would interest me.

By the way:
My first language is German. I can read English, but not tell in English.
But it will already go!

have a nice day

Hello zimbo!

It´s funny to know that I´m not the only one who loves the old european electronic pioneers. And it´s also fine to see all is going on very well. Nice music, Daniel is right - the sound is okay (like an mp3 can be!) an no problems with bass or so. I realize, that bad monitors are better to make good music - too many people have so much expensive equipment and they don´t know what´s to do with it. Follow your way - ´cause it´s a good way to keep the past alive...
