Just a little feedback:
Again, I really like the first 3 1/2 minutes of the song. It builds up very well. I was sorta of expecting it to go into a lead/melody (or something like that) after that point, but it instead kinda jumped into the heavier drums (the transition didn't seem to flow like the rest of the song). I would love to see the song extended to add a lead/melody part or something (I know it is easier said than done). The song has a little bit of an Enya feel to it. I really like it. It is my favorite of your self made stuff so far. You seem to be getting better and better with every new song. Good work. -Russ |

thnx russ, hmmm....yeah i'll take your feedback and will have a look at some kind of lead melody later into song.. see what i can come up with edit- maybe even using a asynth patch??lol
the drums were done like that as a kind of surprise element, so not sure about changing them but ill have a look at that too and any other feedback from others about this part would be appreciated. thnx for the positive comment re getting better.... !! all of you guys inputting has really helped to focus where i need to improve and has helped sooo much... so cheers! russ.. thnx for all your input... i really appreciate your interest! really helps trev

My feedback is just meant to give you some ideas. I could say the same thing about some songs I hear on the radio, etc, so please do not feel like you have to change anything based on my feedback. I do like the song as it is.

yeah thnx russ, your idea is worth looking into. especially as radiocolonel posted this on the other thread which kind of matches up to your comment as hes thinking about adding some guitar so might be cool?
Quote:
so radiocolonel... see if you can do something where russ said it might do with some extra melody when the extra drum track comes in? (if you think it works) trev

thnx russ, glad you still like it.
yes, ive got a few tunes im working on.... very slowly though.... 5yr old girl and pregnant wife and other stuff. will post as soon as ive got someting on the way enough for listening ... nice to hear you check on my post for new music. i had a feeling people werent into my style too much as there seems to be alot of blues and rock on this site... got a new website starting though.... in VERY early days, but its got lots more of my 1970's band on it. go to this site and click on the two circles which will take you to 'my music' and 'my band'. theres also a couple of older songs you can listen to "drumb" (drum and bass try!!) and "compassion" which was a very chilled repetitive thing made from one of my own live drumming rhythms i liked. to hear the songs so just click on the buttons at the bottom of the vending machine... http://www.enginecreations.com/trevb/index.htm

Nice Jukebox, but the coin slots down line up right in FireFox.
Again, all you band stuff is really good. I also listened to "drumb", "robsong", and "compassion". Generally, I liked them all, although "compassion was a little too repetitive for me (as you said), but it does have a nice sound to it. Keep up the good work. As for personal taste. Although everyone has there own personal taste, many of us like a wide variety of music, and most peole can appreciate good stuff, even if it is not the type of music they normaly listen to. |

As for RobSong... lol, I think I must have clicked on the wrong coin slot because I do not remember hearing any little girl talking... I wonder which one I actually listened to . In any case, I just listened to the real RobSong, and it is very cute, with a nice backing melody .

Bravo!
I loved it!
Nice work trev, I really liked your song. The combination of the sounds you used are perfect (to me). I think somewhere about 4min there should be a lead sound and at 5'04" an acoustic instrument solo but... the minimalistic "image" of the song as it is, is really good, so if you are willing to add something, ok, but if not, leave it as it is but work a little with the dynamics and maybe add a drum fill-in before the second drum-beat is coming. PS I'm thinking of using it in my vacation video if you don't mind. Great soundtrack for a seasight.................. ![]() stamvas

I just jammed a little with a trumpet, flute & oboe over your track and it sounds great. Give it a try or a dialogue with sounds...
The song has got plenty of possibilities! but only my opinion.

thanx stamvas for the positive comments! really appreciate it. have you heard any of my others?
sure... someone said about adding something to the end. 'radiocolonol' was going to play around with some guitar for it but hasnt got round to it yet. So if you want to play around with oboe etc and send me the wav file your very welcome, id love to hear your interpretation of the end minute or so!! my email address is in my profile. i will get round to adding something at the end of the song one day.. time just flies though. ive had loads of really good comments about my songs and how to improve them but just cant seem to get the time to sit down and work on them, and if i do have time i prefer to do new stuff... anyhow thanks again. trev feel free to use in your vid..... £200 per minute charge.. (joke)

There is lack of time for everyone of us... I have about 12 tracks unfinished and everytime I have some time free I begin something else. Maybe we should quit our jobs
and work more with our music.I'll let you know if I have any .wav

I'm listening to deep blue, and when the drums + then the second drum kit kicks in it kicks ass!
I'm literaly grooving back and forth in my chair! The direction of Depeche Mode's Ultra Album, if they had some better ideas? I don't know, it's probably wrong to draw parallels between different artists? Tom

Well, where I speak of DM, I mean their 97 album Ultra in particular. They used Producer Tim Simeon (aka Bomb The Bass). The similaritys are the grooves, as they were using a programmed drum beat in one channel, then another in the right side. Therefore the hi-hat patterns, snares etc were a complex and hipnotic mesh. I'm sure there were other layerd beats on the tracks. Recommened listening on Ultra is. 'Barrel of a Gun' and 'Useless'. I don't kn ow if you remember somebody posted a track called 'Judas ' here a litte while ago. That was cover of a Depeche Mode track from their 93 album - Songs of Faith and Devotion. That is truly a greaet record (in my opinion).
