Linking files

I'm in an environment where my servers are behind a firewall. I have one server that is accessible to the internet and have hosted a page there which contains links to other sites as well as to pages I created to link files which are located on another server within my network containing information useful to my employees. My problem is, that these links don't work if you're accessing the page from outside the network.

I'm not very savvy when it comes to networks and sharing files, etc, but I do have the folder these files are in set to allow read permissions to guest user.

What else do I need to do?

Thanks!
