Help XHTML 1.0

Ok having my first play with xhtml! have put up main page up just working out layout & so on...But my problem is I have a left hand content panel which when the font is increased on the site(via a javascript function), the left panel starts obscurring the banner...I know it probably its something silly but I've been looking at the code to much today & have code blindness lol & notepad help is no good lol

Please someone take a look www.louie.org.uk

and no smart remarks as its no where near finished

In your CSS for this block you have set to position it absoluteley and have given it a specified position from top.

UberLord will become famous soon enough

Why don't you support sans or sans-serif as the default font and/or in the font combo? I really hate sites that "force" fonts and their sizes on me - so I really like your option to adjust size

The validator at W3C's site is good for finding bugs. Use it.

Did you actually bother to look at my site!!! No I didn't think so! Had a link to both validators from the start to check my code out

Anyway I'm happier with layout final bit a tweaking...thinking about having links & perfs menus locked, so that when you scroll the page they follow along, anyone know of a good site showing examples of such mechanisms let me me know, preferebly using css1/2

Just set a style="position: fixed" for a menu block that you want to be fixed. Or put a corresponding style information into separate CSS file.

Just because someone links them doesn't mean that they utilize them. . .

Of course, that's not true in this case, but you get the idea.

Sorry had my pissy head on that day ....

Nearly happy with the layout Just couple of things still working on...

I'm trying to put my Nav links & Prefs Menus into a seperate page, which is callled into the main site pages (without using server side includes, as my host dosen't support em!) much like you reference a style sheet within a page. Can this be done! it seems like it should be easy and would cut down on bandwidth usage, as well as making it easyier to update the site...HELP!

Hm maybe it can be done with using OBJECT tag of type text/html in the main page. I haven't tried this yet (always used server side includes) but I think it should work.

Apparently the Zeus Server does support side includes....but I've managed to kill it somehow trying...doh

If you visit :

http://www.magicmushroom.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/
or
http://www.louie.org.uk/

the page is downloaded

If you visit:

http://www.magicmushroom.pwp.blueyon...uk/index.shtml
or
http://www.louie.org.uk/index.shtml

The page displays fine:

getting a bit stumped my .htaccess looks like this atm..which I think should work fine?

DirectoryIndex index.shtml index.htm

ErrorDocument 403 http://error.blueyonder.co.uk/403.html
ErrorDocument 404 http://error.blueyonder.co.uk/404.html
ErrorDocument 500 http://error.blueyonder.co.uk/500.html

AddType text/x-server-parsed-html .shtml

(edit) now placed a redirect in there pointing to a working server(with nasty banner aarrh) untill I can figure out whats going on here

Yippee just fixed it

.htaccess now looks like this:

ErrorDocument 403 http://error.blueyonder.co.uk/403.html
ErrorDocument 404 http://error.blueyonder.co.uk/404.html
ErrorDocument 500 http://error.blueyonder.co.uk/500.html
AddType text/x-server-parsed-html .shtml
AddType text/x-server-parsed-html .htm
DirectoryIndex index.shtml index.htm

Now to try & sort server side includes a last lol
