Why Solaris supports both kernel and user thread?
Solaris (the Sun version of UNIX) supports the mixing both kernel- and user- level threads. Why would they want to have both types of thread in the same process? anyone knows? thx.

Probably for real-time applications. Real-time apps require very specialist stuff.
