Need a help with e-store script

Could you please help me? (sorry if this is a bit off topic) I am not
technically minded, but I would like to start an online store. What
should I start with? Are there any pitfalls that I should be aware
of? Thank you

If you're not technically minded, then you really don't want to be writing one.

It's open source as well

However, it looks like it's german, so some translation may be a little off.

For a small number of items, this shopping cart that works from links or forms in entirely ordinary webspace, can be a useful approach.

For larger sites, you'd need to be building them with a database to HTML tool such as DB Qwiksite - not tried it, but pretty sure you could make it format links the right way.

It also depend very much on what kind of thing you're planning ... craft items made to order, or wheeler dealing in quantity.

Also worth thinking about becoming an EBAY trader, as that puts you in the middle of a failrly busy marketplace, otherwise your own little e-store can be a very quiet spot in the wilderness. (beware of so-called "virtual shopping malls" - if you've never heard of them before as a CUSTOMER, why should anyone else?)
