Dynamic Network Pipe Indicator Bar

I'm curious how to code something like what GamersHell.com uses to monitor thier mirror servers. In peticular their internet bandwidth. That indicator/progress bar that displays the % used vs the total pipe.

Anyone have an idea what I'm talking about?

Well, if you know how that type of 'thing' is coded, I would GREATLY appreciate it if you could share with me how it works - the backend code that generates that output.
