php news in html frames
Is it possible to use a html frams page to link the a php news page? My friend has built a website and he wants to know whether the php news page can substitue the html in his current structure (seen below in ASCII drawing)
title ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ ¯ contents| news page | (and other pages | linked from contents) |

I think the answer is yes - but really frames are eViL and shouldn't be used.

The answer is "yes" to his question and he needs to look into the target property of <a>

Anyways, the problem itself isn't too hard. And unless I've missed the boat entirely I've already answered it

Flash? ARRRRRGGGHHHHH. Do you know how much pain non-Windows users feel when they visit a Flash site?
Dammit, when making internet pages, write to w3c standards! Flash isn't part of it ......... Flash has it's place - just not for a web page

Don't worry DJ he's a Linux Boi, You won't change his beliefs, hehe. If the frames are named you should just be able to add Target="mainFrame" into the <a> tag as Uber said. and just load a PHP file into that frame.

Why don't you learn something like PHP instead of doing flash?

no time to learn it really… my entire music library is WMA and DRM free… and WMA is more widespread than OGG and smaller than MP3 - i only have 20mb space
