...any good, and I mean good, free portals for download, other than PHP Nuke and Postnuke (Rogue, etc.)?

Deluxe Portal's nice, but for the time being I need something that's free

Have you tried using Invision Board and the portal hack? These are both free.
My site runs it if you want to see what it's like.

The portal also uses the same skin as the forums so when you change skins it also changes the skin of the portal

I'm diggin' my way through PHP Nuke @the moment... Also, I'm giving phpBB a try; works fine for now!

phpBB is real good....you can really do a lot with it, Smartor has a good portal he developed for it on his site at http://smartor.is-root.com/.
