Design Help
I am in need of some help getting my web site up and running, hoping that one of you could give me some help. Well first things first. I have designed a website template or page in Photoshop, and have it saved as a JPG. I need some help intergrating Photoshop and Dreamweaver, I know it can be done, but i just dont know how to do it. I also want to know if there is a way to have some kind of a template page, when you click on something it automatically gathers the information and inserts it into the template. I hope that makes some sense. If someone could help me I would REALLY REALLY appreciate it....My website is www.nickpinnau.com if you want to check it out and see what is there. I would like to keep that main page, and just make the buttons and such work....also if you know of some great sites that can give you some good training, or if you could just kindof guide me through some things i would really appreciate it....thanks!!

Don't rely on photoshop and dreamweaver to make your website. Learn html, xhmtl, and css and create your own website.
Here is a great site with tutorials: http://www.w3schools.com/

dont RELY on photoshop and DW. Know enough HTML to get by, and then use photoshop and DW and frontpage and flash and whatever to make things faster or prettier...but you should eb able to udnerstand what they are doing under the hood.

WYSIWYG editors like frontpage and dreamweaver produce some pretty bad html. If you write the site yourself you'll have way more control over the look of it as well as have shorter pages that won't take as long to load or parse. I'd say only use dreamweaver for it's site managing capabilities, they're pretty nice. Outside of that textpad is really great for html because it has syntax highlighting and all the other tasty features of a well made IDE.
Remember the cardinal rule of good web design: HTML controls the content (paragraphs, images) CSS controls the layout (where those paragraphs and images go) You know you have good HTML when someone can come along and write another css file that makes your site look totally different.

Well, I make all of my layouts in Photoshop and then slice and code them by hand using standards compliant code. You should probably learn how to slice first, then start working on advancing your coding skills.

Just do the whole thing in Photoshop and create an image map on all the links

I prefer EditPlus for HTML, and FrontPage for CSS, layouts, etc.
