Printer Firmware

Is there anyone on here that knows how to write/re-write or edit a printers firmware?....I want to edit the firmware on my printer so that when I put a new cartridge it doesnt automatically print a test page, I want it to never print test pages with out me telling it to!!...thanks for any information or links..or just anything you can tell me that will point me in the right direction in this matter...

Thanks
Nick

It could be, but I work at island inkjet, and some of the HP's when i go to test them i slip the cartridge in the printer, print the test page then close the top to try to avoid the test page being printed, but we just got a new printer, and it is to quick for me, then it gets confused and doesnt want to print at all....hmmmmmm

I only know of HP download manager, and that can only upgrade JetDirect firmware. You can find it here:
