Sine Sententia. . .

http://elvis.rowan.edu/~dgrochow/

Here's a website that I just started working on. Well, the actual design has been sitting on my HD for months, but last night I decided to code it and make something useful out of it.

Heres one i started a while ago just using Swift 2.0
never did finish it or link it up..
I found it to busy looking for buisness.

The spinning ball on the page is for emailing me and the chanderler at the bottom enters the site.. but you will notice nothing after entering is linked up yet..
Took so much time making the sprits and mouse over effects for sound and so forth that i just put it on the back burner for now..

I do like your site tho.. simple is nice and less confusing..

That's definitely not a good resolution to work in.

I like the color scheme and the general layout. Pretty impressive, but I got to agree with Vampyromaniac, 640x480 is a bit too small. Get it up to 800x600 it would look rather splendid and functional.

They're hard to find because of the number of crappy coders out there who use Frontpage.

Malus, thats one of the cleanest web layouts I've seen
Nice job - using pure CSS and xHTML 1.1

Only modification I'd make it to make it resize to the width of the browser window.

Thats mostly a Microsoft dev site, featuring ASP, VB, .NET, C#, etc.
They have a token guesture towards PHP and Perl. At least they have a SQL bit (but I bet thats MS-SQL and not ANSI-SQL )

Personally, I'd steer clear of MS web based stuff as it limits you to only running it off MS servers. Thats why I only use PHP for web based stuff as it works on nearly every web platform

I was thinking about that, but then I'd have to make a resizing logo. In order to do that, I'd have to redesign the logo. I'm just too lazy to do it as of now.

The background color was just fine. The problem is, when you make a background color, you have to have a font color as well. Otherwise, some user's default font could match the background color and you could have problems. Doesn't seem like a big deal to me, since I declared the font color in the body, but I guess it's a better way code it.

Actually it was the background-color, and you added 'transparent'.

Why does the logo have to resize? As long as it's centered.

The only graphic you have to change are the two bars top and bottom middle. You've gotta chop the ends off and insert a resizeable graphic that's your filler. As you're using a top->bottom gradient, resizing the width is still going to make it look good

i would just make the logo centered, with a gradient background, and have the sides of the logo fade into the gradient slightly, could look very nice indeed.

Transparent was already there. Didn't change that at all. All I added was a font color for #content and #main, since both have background colors specified.
