Retailers selling Dell 2407WFP in the UK ?
Well other then Dell and OCUK is there anyone else selling these or claiming to have stock ?
I'd buy from OCUK but they just bumped there price up £60 which seems a little dodgy. |

don't know of any as i have not looked.as for the price increase from ocuk sure you have not been looking at a 'this week only' offer. As the is a couple of dells in the offer line up at the moment. only saying that as i don't know how recent you looked. Try dabs.com there service is reliable but they are not always the cheapest around. |

and the 2405 does not suffer from the banding issues that have been reported about the 2407FPW

Dell have started shipping some newer versions plus my huge problem with LCD's in general is the response time, I simply would never be able to live with a 16ms screen.

As for the 2405 and the 2407, ive used them side by side, the 2405 was the better panel, better colour and no difference to my eyes on refresh either - and trust me if anyone is picky about a screen its me. the 2407 and the 3007 are getting some really negative reports, research on google and buy with caution even with the firmware upgrade. |

The G2G response times nowadays give a far better indication of real responsiveness since grey to grey transitions are far more common than black > white transitions are. Last edited by Shocky; May 31, 2006 at 08:48 PM. |

the 3007 actually looks pretty damn good imo. Now i've seen 4 in total, 1 of which was somewhat DOA, or DPOA (dead pixels on arrival).
The first 2 looks damn good, but i'll agree the kinda "glow" effect of the outa edges was somewhat prominent apon a black screen. However The 3rd one looked like a new revision. It didn't show the same results, it's manufacturers date was also quite different. Here's my problem: Dell had a very very neato sale on the Dell 3007fpw's... selling them as cheap as $1400 bucks a pop. Some people managed to get them cheaper, some managed to barely get them below the 1600 mark... But there official orginal value was indeed 2299 before. I've since sent off some emails to Dell about there various price differences along with the plausible revision date that coinsides somewhat with when the price was marked back up. ATM, My thoughts on the matter is this: the orginal 3007fpw's, the first revision or 2 were somewhat "faulty" or more or less bland in comparison to a good quality display similare to that of the 2405. Resulting in issues similare to that of the 2407. They cleared there stock of this by dropping the price significantly, allowing piles apon piles of people (and ebayers included) to buy up and ship out all of them, as they technically aren't faulty... just not of the quality dell would have perferred. Now Dell has the newer revisions in, which "hopefully" have resolved the visual problems that were there. If this is the case, aside from the 3007fpw having some obvious limitations (no TV inputs of any kind, just a straight DVI-D connector and the very few multimedia card readers and super small USB hub of 2 USB ports), they've made the monitor even more steller to view. Nothing beats 4 million pixels of pure pleasure
