Where to buy new comp?
I can't decide where to buy a new custom comp. I was thinking about buying all the parts from tigerdirect.com and newegg.com and building the comp myself, but then i wouldn't have a good warranty with many of the items I purchase. So I went to a local computer store and they said they could build it for me, but the store practically doubled the price of the same comp specs than newegg.com and tigerdirect.com.
Also, my friend told me about ibuypower.com and he recommended it. But the my last comp purchase online wasn't good so i don't know if I want to go down that path again. I bought a XPS from Dell and when i got it, it had a bunch of advertisement crap on it. So i don't know if ibuypower does those kind of things. What do you recommend me to go to build a custom computer. The basic specs are supposed to be: nForce 680i SLI 775 A1 Version Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 2.40GHz Processor with Fan EVGA GeForce 8800 Ultra 768 MB PCIe OCZ Gold 2GB DDR2 memory and cooling system and such. |

There are a number of options if you want to spend the $$$.
Maingear: Maingear: High-Performance Systems - Gaming PC, Custom Gaming Computers, PC gaming, Custom PC, Gaming Systems, Notebooks, Workstations, Desktop PC's AVADirect: Custom Computer Systems, Laptops, Notebooks, Servers & Parts Puget Custom Computer: Puget Custom Computer - Desktop Computers, Laptops, Servers HardOCP does a pretty good job of evaluating various 'Boutique' systems, and you can find more info on other builders here: [H] Consumer --- consumer.hardocp.com and here: [H] Consumer - [H] Consumer Best of the Best Awards - 2006== None of then are going to be as cheap as a DIY system, but if you are looking for somthing more than a generaic Sony, HP, Gateway, etc., this could be the way to go. Read a review or two to see how they evaluate the systems, and go from there.
