Overclockers UK appoints new MD
Hi, I apologise if this is the wrong place - please re-locate if you feel it inappropriate or remove. However, Mark Proudfoot & Andy Gibson (Gibbo) are close friends with Mark Reed however I understand he is currently on holiday and hope he will be OK with this.
Regards, Rupert (RTB) Please find below: Today OcUK appoints new MD - I am delighted to welcome Rupert Lowery to the Team of Overclockers UK as Managing Director. Formerly Chief Executive of TheHut.com Rupert brings considerable breadth and depth to Overclockers UK having successfully managed and grown a number of technology based businesses. Rupert has built a reputation for leadership and dynamism in roles within the retail, banking and technology industries, with Sainsbury's, Lloyds TSB, Halifax PLC, Caudwell Communications, the state-owned Irish Post Office and the alphyra Group. I will assume the position of Chairman performing a number of key roles; continued development of our supply routes for exceptional products and services; mentorship of Rupert enabling handover of the operational business; management of the Overclockers UK Forums; and strategic direction of the business. I have absolute confidence that both our customers and the OcUK Team can only benefit from this development. Thank you for choosing Overclockers UK. Mark Proudfoot Chairman |

Grats
I always use Overclockers. Built my last 3 rigs using them and service, delivery have always been spot on. One area of concern should be the telephone and internet departments though, i've spoke on the phone twice and both times the staff transferred me around and didn't sound interested, wouldnt mind but I was querying new purchases not asking for support/RMA. Also sent thankyou's by email after good service and never got a reply, now I don't bother. Other than that no complaints and hopefully the new MD can help the company grow. |

Saturday failed delivery fee refunded
Why is it that when customers pay for Saturday delivery which OcUK are unable to fulfill, why is the extra fee not refunded as the delivery provider will not ask for the Saturday fee as the goods did not leave the OcUK warehouse in time for a Saturday next day delivery which was not the fault of the delivery provider meaning that not only was the customer let down by OcUK with the customer not getting the goods until 4 days later on the Tuesday but OcUK has also pocketed an extra £10 or more for failing to dispatch the goods in time.
It only seems right at the very least to refund the difference from Saturday next day fee to normal next day fee seeing as that what should happen in such situations anyway as this has happened a bit to often for my liking. Edit: just incase some maybe thinking that i may not of place my order in time, i think 8:19 am Friday morning is more than enough of a head start for Saturday delivery for such small items being 4 sticks of ram.

Its only a matter of time until they do let you down but thats to be expected. maybe because i have used then so much that the laws of averages have caught up with me , but overall they are most likely one of the best,my only gripe is what i posted above, letting my down is bad enough & excusable at times but charging more for it as well is not.

No big deal Final8ty....
My English is crap. (And i have a reason behind it which i won't discuss) but you have totally thrown me on your replies.! (Got you're point after a third read) I have never used the Saturday delivery service from overclockers which is set at £25 the last time i looked. That i find is way too expensive compared to the next day delivery service which the max i have paid is £8 and you are able to select the date you require delivery. For example: I just ordered windows Vista Ultimate (OEM) on wednesday...The delivery date was set for today (12/10/07) and was delivered before 12pm today. As for my self i could drive to stoke-on-trent and back on much less than what they charge for Saturday delivery's. As i said i have never had problems with overclockers.co.uk and still have no reason to complain. Each to their own reasons. Last edited by MIG-31; Oct 12, 2007 at 09:47 PM. |

i use OcUK a hell of allot seeing as i build computers for others and have no choice but to try to get stuff as soon as possible as im paid up front. I can not see any viable reason why that they can not give me back the extra i paid ontop of the £8 normal next day fee seeing as they have not used it nor will they be charged for it by citylink. Edit: discussion moved to http://www.hardwareheaven.com/retailer...s-co-uk-5.html

I used OcUK all the time when I lived in the UK. You guys need to set up shop over here in New Zealand, as most the online retailers here can't hold a candle to the amazing service I used to get from you.
Congrats and best of luck
