Amazon, Where's my order!?
I placed an amazon order for some items.. typically when i place an order i make certain that it counts..
ever since the most recent issue where amazon will no longer ship computer components via PO BOX numbers and must have a valid deliverable street/building address that are only in the major urban centers, I've been a little irritated by this fact. The package sent either way is no different.. they just insist on using UPS or FedEx now resulting in well... delivery taking place at my sisters house at which point i have to pay her to deliver it the rest of the way, 200 mile round @ about 4 hours time wasted isn't exactly great.... least i get free delivery to her house. Even if i try and pay for more expensive shipping won't change anything. ANYWHO... skipping the unnecessary crap i just wrote above... to the point I placed an order, had it shipped to my sisters again like last time, placed it on the 28th i believe of January..... expected delivery is the 2nd of February.... great ..... nothing arrived, no word.. zilch.Checked the delivery tracking and shows it was delivered but now where only mentioned "saskatoon"... well that's no help. Again selected the order, hit the "call me" button and BOOM was talking to a representative instantly. She said the delivery comments she is seeing is "left at side door".... odd... my sisters house doesn't have a "side" door... She puts me on hold.... i wait maybe 60 seconds at most and she comes back on and says. "since it is confirmed delivered by the shipping company responsible, we'll give it another few days, please call back Saturday if you still haven't confirmed that you have received it" And then she said the most excellent thing i never expected to hear without a damn good long drawn out fight. "When you phone in Saturday, we will ship you another exact replacement package at no cost to you, expressed guarantee delivered within 2 days" ![]() Orly!? that's just fantastic.... about $300 dollars worth of stuff... nice. Thanked her and then proceeded to call my sister and ask her to double check the package hadn't been delivered.. it's not entirely a small box so it shouldn't be hard to miss but i asked to double check anyways. Low and behold.. for the past 5+ days it's been sitting outside in the weather, sleet and snow and rain, in apparently a hidden little spot, by the door that is never used or has easy access to. And it's not "a side door".... maybe out of "sight" door... *sigh*..... The time it was stated to have been delivered, was at a time that someone was indeed at home available to receive... I should have been signed for..... Even though the issue of not being able to ship me things directly because fedex/ups doesn't deliver... which sucks balls...... everytime i have needed to get support from amazon .. has always been stellar.

Re: Amazon, Where's my order!?
It is now becoming a common practice that online retailers refuse to ship to PO box or a specific apt number. They need signed receipt of acknowledging shipment.

Re: Amazon, Where's my order!?
even though i don't use a po box number in the cases where they won't accept it.... i'll use my business building number.... which is no different than shipping it to any other place... but because i live 100 miles from the nearest urban center... they won't accept it.... my town/village/hamlet doesn't exist in their eyes.
