NewEgg's the best
I ordered a 50 pack of DVD+Rs awhile ago from NewEgg, but when I got them they were damaged (during shipping) - so I contacted NewEgg. They said that ordinarily they would file a complaint with FedEx (a lot of redtape) on my behalf, but instead they offered to send a new pack of what I ordered for free and I didn't have to return the damaged ones.
Even though the discs were only $23 and sending them back would of only cost $3, I thought it was nice of them to do, and it saved me a lot of trouble and time.

I rather like how well they package things and get it here lightning fast.
Built a whole PC through them and everything was perfect. (except for a defective soundcard on the mobo.. but that was replaced by a Soundblaster)

i orderd my motherboard, heatsink, keyboard, and mouse from newegg some time ago. no complaints at all. the motherboard was a nice price and everything with it got shipped for just a penny. the mouse/keyboard deal was great, 30 bucks for these 2, when the mouse alone was 35.
i havnt bought any comp hardware latly, but when ever i have to again ill most likely go with newegg once again. oh, and there shipping is fast as hell. they normaly told me it would be about 3-4 days for arrival, it always came a day before they told me it would. |

I used to love newegg, then they opened a warehouse in my state. Who wants to pay sales tax on expensive computer components? Now I use zipzoomfly (previously googlegear). They're just as awesome, free 2 day shipping on almost everything, and always neck-and-neck on prices. Both companies have athlon 64 3500+'s priced within the dollar in zipzoomfly's favor.
Newegg's website is more useful with its reviews, however. I usually bum the reader reviews from newegg before making a zipzoom purchase *cough*.

Yea, but when you oder something and determane it's defective POS and return it to buy something your charged a restocking fee unless you want another one of the wothless POSes
I've delt with one ASROCK, one biostar board and I will never consider either brand again....I mean I have to ship it back + pay a restocking fee for a defective product.... Since I don't want another one bcouse the quality is low and a new one would exibit te exact same issues... other then that thier fine with the excption you can ALWAYS find a lower prices else where. (other then that and I find all PC companies marketng deploareable for example PDP system ram, new kids on the block as far as perfomance PC memory goes and when they rolled out you could get a gig kit for less then $150 shipped, I bought after some reviews came out and prople started noticeing, less then a week rools by and the price jumps $50!... then rolled back just a little.. about $200 for the same ram) I mean thats BS!.. I read AMD slashes prices look at the websites most have tacked on a few dallors to thier prices .... since my recent / last visit...)

You should do more research before buying something, especially motherboards. Asrock and Biostar are small names, you gotta stick with Asus, Abit and MSI, etc. As for restocking fees, that's every place.

newegg is cool. but i just can't wait for the stuff i buy to be shipped to me! It sux that they don't allow me to go pick up what i buy. I live like 20min. away from their warehouse in City of Industry. I simply cannot wait on fedEx to get me my package by the next day w/o paying for the extra shipping. Other than not being able to pick up what i order, newegg is pretty cool

I have had good luck with Amazon lately too... Good customer service, prices, and shipping costs.

new jersey, woot!
frozencpu is great for cooling supplies. They're more money but they custom cable everything and it's incredible quality. I order all my cooling stuff from them and have them wrap the cables with green wrap and black shrinkwrap.

Normally I order from Newegg, and/or Zipzoomfly. If you work it out right some times you may pay a bit more with Zoom but you get free shipping. However, I'm not too impressed /w their after order notifications. |

no complaints when it comes to newegg. My computer wasnt working right...after much testing I discovered that the motherboard must be defective. I returned it and got a new one...it still had problems. So my uncle(whos in the computer building biz) told me it must be my ram. so I exchanged my ram. still having problems...I bought a soundcard from them because I noticed that when I kill the onboard audio, I didnt get the bloody BSOD I was dealing with.
After alot of pain and agony I returned that mobo AGAIN and told them to just get me the dual channel A7N8X...they shipped it to me(I had to pay them some extra moolah because its more expensive of course...) and it worked great! Turns out that my ram has some issues with the single channel nForce2 boards(for some odd reason). Anyway they totally didnt complain about ANYTHING when I made my returns. It was all no questions asked and they gave me my full money back. I dunno what this business about restocking fees is. I know you gotta do that if you dont LIKE the item...but if its defective they just take it back.

But when a product is defective, then the restock fee is wavied. The item can be either returned for a full refund, exchange for the same item, or exchange for a different item (within a certain time limit) and you either pay the difference, or get some money back depending on the price of the exchanged item (that's how it is at my work at least). I'm sure that's how newegg works as well as far as their return policy goes, or something very similar to that. |
