GeeBee is on a distinguished road

Purchase and RMA of leadtek 6800gt through newegg

About a month ago i bought a leadtek 6800gt from newegg.
First Boot with the card was glitched with odd characters etc, this went away on second boot...after a crapton of testing with different drivers, a new power supply ( aspire 520w from 400w sparkle ) power supply didnt fix it.

Throughout my experience with this card it would run correctly on some things ( need for speed underground 2 ) but not on Everquest, World of warcraft, Spinter cell pandora tomorrow that came with the card, and halo. in the games that would not run it would artifact and crash / reboot computer.

After 2 weeks of trying different drivers / settings ( attempted to underclock card also which didnt work either ) my primary hard drive gave out, under warranty still, maxtors program identified it as partitioning problems, dont think its related to the vid cards problems, but pretty odd timing.

I believed the card to be bad and RMA'd it through newegg for a replacement.

waited a week before i shipped it and looked on newegg to see if anyone had left recent feedback on the card with similiar problems, couldnt find it on their site. went to view my invoice on their site and it wouldnt come up saying there was no information for the invoice number.

When newegg got the rma they said it had been discontinued and would give me a full refund.

Im guessing that im not the only one to return one of these cards which is why they stopped offering it.

Im also curious as to if leadtek shipped out some of the so called "lite" cards at the normal GT settings with the lower speed ram on it, since its the ram that was causing the problem.

Thoughts on this? not sure what brand to get instead of the leadtek since that cooler was far superior to all other brands.

my system specs are
Athlon 2500 barton core @ 2.3ghz 200x11.5 1.8 vcore
2x512mb corsair value saver ram
Powercolor Geforce4 4200ti 128mb 4x
a7n8x deluxe
120gig maxtor 7200 ata133 ( rip )
2 80gig seagate satas in raid 0 ( controlled by integrated controller )
dvd-rw
thermaltake armor case ( steel empty weight 35lb - getting aluminum next time )

I had a sumilar experiance with a OEM 9200SE though the invoice had disappeared and I
could almost swear knew i orderd it from them I couldn't RMA it back to the MFG
with out proof of purchace. I orderd had some stuff cpu/heatsink/ etc then forgot the
video card. I returned and orderd the video card, I aprently didn't save the email or
invoice as I normally do since it been 6 months I had give the invoice to my parents
who lost it. I had already done away with my CC statement for that time... My parents
also remember it being newegg I'd orderd it from for them. Far as newegg is conserned
they never sold me one of those cards though one with the exact same spec & look

Interesting to hear I not the only to experice a invoice that "dissapeared" from my
account history even though all others I've ever bought there are still there .
