Corsair AX850 Power Supply Review

Corsair Professional Series Gold AX850 Power Supply

Earlier this month we published a review of Corsair's AX1200 PSU after taking a significant amount of time to really torture our sample. We found it to be a phenomenal unit, far exceeding our expectations in every department. From build quality to electrical performance it was a near flawless product but this did come at a cost, £235/$280 which is likely out of the reach of many consumers.

The fantastic performance of the AX1200 no doubt left anyone who read that review looking for a way to afford the unit and for those who couldn't there was always the hope that Corsair would release a model aimed at a lower price point. Today that happens and on our test bench we have the latest model in Corsair's PSU range, the Professional Series Gold AX850. This is Corsair's new enthusiast product and considering how well the ultra-high end model performed it has a lot to live up to when carrying the Professional Series Gold family name.
