A.C. Ryan Playon!HD Essential Review

It is hard to believe that 12 months ago A.C. Ryan was a company that few people would recognise but that is the case. In the last year they have steadily released a number of Full HD media devices from the original Playon!HD to the more recent DVR version. This frequent release of products and a successful marketing strategy has seen the company grow to be a significant player in the industry with an ever increasing brand presence. Flick through many of the major print publications which focus on gadgets and there is more than likely an advert for one of their products, visit tech websites and the banners may well feature A.C. Ryan too.

All of this exposure is useless however unless the products being produced are good and thankfully in the case of the previous Playon!HD devices we have tested our experience has been very positive, winning two gold awards and a silver award.

Now A.C. Ryan are back with the next model in the Playon!HD family, the Essential. With an updated Realtek chipset, improved GUI and feature-set aimed at no-fuss operation can the Essential live up to the high standards of previous models?
