XFX Radeon 6950 1 GB XXX - Building a XXX Eyefinity system
A few weeks ago when NVIDIA launched the GTX 560 Ti there was a little bit of movement in terms of Radeon pricing to make the cards more attractive to consumers but that wasn't the main response from AMD. Quite quietly they added a new product to their 6900 family of cards, a 6950 which was equipped with 1GB of memory rather than the standard 2GB. This new card, with less memory, was able to hit a lower price point than the original model and so became a competitor to the 560, taking that title away from the 6870. |

Today we will be looking at one of the first custom versions of the 6950 1GB, the XFX XXX and in the process we will take a detailed look at 1920x1080 performance as well as 5760x1080 (Eyefinity) and CrossFire. As always that will be combined with our GPU computing and HD media playback tests (including Blu-Ray 3D) but to spice things up a little we are adding in a detailed look at building an Eyefinity system for high end gaming, high end wheel and stick controllers... video of the system running... the works.
