OCZ ZX Series 850W Power Supply Review

OCZ ZX Series 850W Power Supply Review

In the last couple of weeks we have taken a look at a couple of products released by the OCZ Technology Group. The first was their new Vertex 3 SSD based on a second generation Sandforce controller and despite being an early sample with pre-production firmware it was worthy of high praise, scoring exceptionally well in all areas. Next up was the PC Power and Cooling Silencer 760W, the latest model from the company OCZ acquired back in 2007. That PSU, like the Vertex 3 SSD was an impressive product but OCZ don't just release PSUs under PCP&C branding, they also do so in their own name and today we have one of their latest models on our test bench.

The ZX Series 850W is the first model in their new range of Gold Certified PSUs, a fully modular unit it is designed for high efficiency and low noise operation. Let's see if OCZ can achieve these goals.
