ASUS NVIDIA GeForce GTX 590 Launch Review

Civilization 5 - DirectX 11

Civilization 5 was released at the end of September 2010 and in a somewhat surprising move the developers have included a number of advanced graphical features in the latest version of this franchise. This includes support for DirectX 11 and terrain tessellation, ensuring this is the best looking Civilization ever.

Testing was performed at 1920x1080 and 5760x1080 with 8x anti-aliasing. High in-game settings were enabled.

As with Dead Space 2 the engine used in Civ 5 poses no real problem for any of our cards, the GTX 590 remaining playable right up to 5760x1080 with maximum detail with 8x anti-aliasing.

Here is an example of how the game looks with the above settings.
