Palit NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560 Sonic Platinum Edition Graphics Card Review

Brink - idTech 4

Brink was released recently and offers something a little different for our cards to handle, a game engine based on OpenGL technology. idTech 4 was originally used on Doom 3 and most recently in Wolfenstein (2009) and has been tweaked a lot since the original build including its ability to manage/display large outdoor areas.

Testing was performed at 1920x1080 with anti-aliasing enabled. High in-game settings were enabled also.

No huge surprises here considering the age of the game engine as the GTX 560 offers great performance throughout our test, even at 1920x1080 with all settings at their limit. Interestingly there is quite a significant gap between it and the overclocked 6850, even with the latest AMD drivers which are available to maximise Brink performance and image quality.

Here is how the game looks at our tested settings.
