Palit NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560 Sonic Platinum Edition Graphics Card Review

Portal 2 - DirectX 9 and 3D

One of the most anticipated titles of this year Portal 2 uses Valve's Source engine to create a nice looking game environment. Add to that the recent updates to NVIDIA's driver which give the game an "Excellent" rating for 3D Vision and we have the ideal title to test the performance of stereoscopic 3D.

Testing was performed at 1920x1080 with 8x anti-aliasing enabled. Maximum in-game settings were enabled also.

Benchmark Results

The above results tell us that the GTX 560 is an ideal card for experiencing Portal 2 in stereo 3D. Performance never drops below 33 frames per second and averages far higher, only limited by the 60fps cap in this mode of gaming. As we expected from a game which is rated as Excellent for 3D Vision the image quality is perfect and in many cases very cool as we look through the depth of portals in the level. A must buy title for 3D enthusiasts.
