X58 DDR3 Memory Roundup June 2011 featuring Patriot, Corsair, Crucial, Kingston and G.Skill Memory Kits

Conclusion

The one thing which we can probably take away from this roundup is that each of the manufacturers who's products we have tested offers some great performance on the X58 platform, though each kit has its own benefits.

Starting with the Corsair Vengeance we have modules which overclock well, run on a low voltage, keep cool as a result and offer good performance across all of the tests.

Crucial offer us memory which looks nice before we plug in, at which point they look great, ideal for modders or those with case windows. In addition to this they offer some good performance thanks to tight timings and of course have a low price point due to being a 6GB kit.

For G.Skill we have some modules which have a decent appearance and a design which is easy to install. They also balance performance, through tight timings, with capacity at 4GB per module.

Kingston's t1 modules give us an option to run with 24GB of matched memory which runs nice and cool thanks to the oversized heat spreaders. They also perform at a good level.

That brings us to the Patriot sticks. We loved the copper, silver and black design which looks awesome in person. It's not all about looks though as the Viper Xtreme give us the option to run at 2000MHz and beyond, scoring well in all of our tests whether it is synthetic, real world, overclocking or thermal performance.

Summary
A nice selection of DDR3 with kits which are all recommended and should meet the needs of all consumers, regardless of the system they will be installed in.
