Dell XPS 15z Laptop Review

Dell XPS 15z Laptop Review

Back in 2009 Dell launched their original Adamo and with it signalled their recognition that there were a group of consumers out there who were looking for a slim, luxury system which might compete with the MacBook Air. In terms of technology and design that system was reasonably well received however the original price point felt a little too high for most.

Less than a year later Dell refreshed the Adamo range, announcing the XPS version which packed higher specifications into a refined chassis. We reviewed it here and were impressed by the build quality and price to performance ratio.

The Adamo XPS was however still a luxury product and therefore consumers who were looking for some high end styling and build quality still had to pay a significant amount for it... that was until the XPS 15 a great mix of mainstream components and XPS build quality at a very reasonable price.

Now Dell are back with the XPS 15z, a slimmer, higher specification model which combines an aluminium chassis with 2nd Generation Core CPU and GeForce GPU in a portable form factor which Dell states is the thinnest 15" PC available, anywhere. Today we have the XPS 15z on our test bench and will be putting it through a selection of real world and synthetic tests to find out if the great features and performance of the XPS 15 has been continued in this new model.
