The WASD, cursor, NumPad and Cyborg keys can be lit independently from the rest of the keyboard. Though the colour range is limited, mixing shades from red to amber to green, there is enough variation to produce a very effective result.
We found the Cyborg keys easy to configure using the software provided. They are conveniently placed on the left and right edges of the keyboard in easy reach when gaming.
The Cyborg V.7 keyboard also features hard wearing metal plated key caps in key gaming areas, which are designed to withstand the punishment that we are likely to give them during any gaming session.
Moving onto the R.A.T. 7 gaming mouse we find that this wired version does not differ greatly from the wireless version we previously reviewed. As we mentioned in our previous review when first unboxing the R.A.T. gaming mouse the user may well be a little overwhelmed by the customisation options offered but with some time spent tailoring it to our hand there are few mice which can compete.
The aesthetic design of the R.A.T. 7 is indeed quite unique. It does not draw attention to itself with flashing lights instead it relies on its unique build. With a body that is split into various sections, black soft touch surface and some silver components it looks both eye-catching and cool. The R.A.T. 7 also has a very solid feeling to it and its various parts have a very high quality feel.
As we found with the R.A.T. 9, the configurations options for the R.A.T. 7 are endless. We found ourselves endlessly tweaking the various elements of the mouse to provide ourselves with the best possible fit for our own personal use. Changing the actual components of the mouse only takes a few seconds and it is very easy to quickly understand how everything is put together.
In terms of performance we found the R.A.T. 7 to be excellent. The R.A.T. 7 can be used with either a palm or claw grip and we found the mouse move smoothly across our desk. The optical sensor tracks well and there are plenty of configurations options available in the software suite.
Finally we have the G.L.I.D.E 7 gaming surface. This is an extremely comfortable surface to use and we found the thick padding very helpful during longer gaming sessions. The surface itself works extremely well with the Cyborg mouse, as we would expect, however it is also worked equally well when we tried other mice.
The design on the G.L.I.D.E 7 gaming surface is also very good and fits in very well with the overall design used in all the Cyborg products. The edges of the surface were clean and we were unable to find any loose threads.
