Enermax Revolution87+ 850W Power Supply Review

Conclusion

As we noted in the introduction to this review 2011 has been a great year for Enermax and their PSUs with the Platimax and Maxrevo both impressing us massively... the latest in a long line of high end Enermax PSUs to do so. The Revolution87+ 850w doesn't have the same ultra high wattage rating as those models but in every other way it is just as impressive though.

The great user experience starts with the top notch build quality such as the high quality finish on the outside of the PSU and continues inside through the use of high specification components like the Japanese capacitors rated for 105°C. The overall design with a decent amount of modular cables is also great with a nice spacious layout inside and the minimal heatsinks let us know that this is a high efficiency unit.

Speaking of efficiency the Revolution87+ doesn't disappoint with results showing performance in excess of the Gold certification and across all of the other tests we performed the PSU scored well. In fact it was a near flawless set of results when we consider the ultra-quiet noise levels and low temperatures.

We haven't had a price in from Enermax yet for the unit but as always expect them to be competitive with other units in the same specification range. The 5-year warranty adds value to an already very impressive product.
