As with other SteelSeries mice this model uses a standard installer for the drivers and at the end of the install process the latest firmware is automatically flashed to the mouse.
Following the install we manage the mouse settings via the SteelSeries Engine software. For the Kana we have four areas for configuration and on the first screen the items of note are our mouse button configuration, allowing us to set the function of left, right, side 1/2 and mouse wheel which can include macros.
Moving to the second tab we can change the polling rate and tweak the CPI settings which are assigned to the selector button on the mouse. It is also possible to assign mouse wheel LED brightness here which lets us see which profile is active without checking the software.
Our third tab allows us to set profiles for the mouse and finally we have the statistics screen which lets us know how often we press each button.
