The Razr is a handset which measures 130.7x68.9x7.1mm and weighs in at 127g making it one of the thinnest and lightest high end handsets available today. The top surface has a Corning Gorilla Glass coating which sits on the 4.3 inch 540x960 pixel screen which features super AMOLED capactive technology with 16m colours and 256ppi pixel density.
Worthy of note is that Motorola have applied a splash proof coating to the Razr which is designed to repel liquid.
Down the right edge of the handset we find the up/down volume keys and a silver function button which is mainly used to lock/unlock the screen.
Turning round to the left there are no buttons however a small flip down panel reveals our micro-SD (up to 32GB) and micro-SIM slots.
At the base of the handset we can see the hole used for the microphone (active noise cancellation) and four touch sensitive buttons at the base of the screen. As is normal they are menu, home, back and search.
Up at the other end of the handset we have our 3.5mm headset connector and two sockets. One is our mini-USB and the other micro-HDMI. It is also possible to make out the 1.3MP front camera and proximity sensor, just beneath the Motorola branding.
Over on the back of the Razr we get a good view of the laser cut KEVLAR fibre finish and then at the top, on a slightly thicker section of the body (11mm) we find our camera with LED flash. This is an 8 megapixel model and touch focus is supported as is geo-tagging, face detection, image stabilisation and 1080p video at 30fps.
Inside the handset Motorola have opted for a dual core 1.2GHz Coretex A9 CPU with PowerVR SGX540 GPU. The OS is provided with 1GB of RAM and storage is 16GB, though Motorola partition this with some dedicated to applications and a separate area for multimedia storage.
The Razr supports HSDPA 14.4, HSUPA 5.76Mbps, WiFi-N (dual-band), Bluetooth 4.0 with LE+EDR and A-GPS/SLONASS. An accelerometer, compass and light sensor are also present.
