The new iPad (3rd Generation) - Review
When Apple announced the iPhone 4S last year it is fair to say that the general response was that many people were impressed with the technology inside, whether it was hardware with the new CPU or software and the likes of Siri. That said they were also less impressed with the external styling, not that it was low quality or looked bad, more that it wasn't different enough from the iPhone 4. It seems that consumers wanted something that they could identify as being unique and specific.
That feedback must have been noted at Apple but the question was whether it would be acted upon, or if sales would be so strong anyway that there was no need to consider significant revisions. Certainly there is a school of thought that "if it isn't broken, don't fix it" but that only goes so far with gadget enthusiasts
With today's launch of "The new iPad"... though many are calling it the iPad 3, we have a device which follows a similar design ethic to the iPhone 4S. Make most of the changes internal and otherwise stick as close to the previous design as possible. We have the new iPad on our test bench and today will be putting it through our review process, read on to find out what we think of it. |
