With Skyrim Bethesda have chosen to stick with DirectX9 and so we don't get to take advantage of many of the features which make these cards stand out from older models. That said this does mean we have some high framerates from all the cards being tested with the GTX 680 outperforming a 3GB, OC GTX 580 at 1920x1080 as well as the max OC 7970.

Like Battlefield 3 when we move to 5760x1080 and maximum detail the GTX 680 continues to perform at a level just above the reference 7970 for average framerates, peaking 10fps higher.

Here are examples of how the game looks at our tested settings.
