The MV800 is available in black, white and our review model's red. Each has a brushed metal casing and weighs 121g with dimensions of 92x56.2x18.3mm. Extending slightly from the front is a Schneider branded lens (F=4.7-23.5mm 35mm equivalent 26-130mm) with 5x optical zoom and 5x digital zoom. The sensor behind this is CCD based with effective pixels of 16.15mp and Samsung have ensured that it features dual format image stabilisation and auto-focus (from 5cm Macro, 80cm normal).
Sitting above and to the left of the lens is a single flash which features red-eye reduction and a 4 second recharge time. In terms of ISO we can hit up to 3200 and shutter speeds run from 16-1/2000sec.
Turning round to the back of the camera we find two single control buttons, home and play. Home brings up our main interface and play starts a slideshow of our media. Both use the 3.0" TFT LCD screen which has 288,000 pixels and touch screen functionality.
Of course there is a reason this is part of the MultiView brand and that is because the screen flips up to face the front of the camera. Why? Well in this position we can use the display to help us compose and take pictures of ourselves. To further aid in this there is a take picture button on the back surface when the camera is open.
Up on the top of the camera we find a power button, status LED, zoom lever and capture button.
The MV800 also features a good level of connectivity with the base of the camera featuring a tripod socket, battery slot and SD/SDHC card slot which sit under a panel, just like the USB 2.0/HDMI connector.
