CPU Performance

First up for our CPU tests we have Cinebench which offers a synthetic approach to testing . This is followed by our own Photoshop benchmark which looks at real world performance within that application.

In these two tests which look more at CPU performance than the last page we see two scenarios. In the first we have a test (Cinebench) which makes heavy use of multiple cores on our processors and in that type of workload the i7-3960X is strongest with I7-3770K edging ahead of the 2700K and AMD well behind. When we move to a test which tends towards using less cores and focuses more on turbo enhancements we see the three Intel CPUs which all hit 3.9GHz scoring around the same with AMD quite a way behind.
