Taking us into real world gaming tests is Battlefield 3 and we start with 1920x1080 at maximum detail where the three dual GPU configurations scale well, each averaging over 100fps. The GTX 690 also compares nicely with the GTX 680 SLI, offering similar average framerates with the min/max showing a little variation.
When we move up to 5760x1080 with maximum detail the GTX 690 continues to compare well with the GTX 680 SLI however the 7970 CrossFire setup also performs strongly, moving ahead with minimum framerates being particularly good.
