Razer Tiamat 7.1 Surround Sound Analog Game Headset Review
Razer may well be best known for their mice and keyboards but over the past few years they have released a few excellent audio products. The
Megalodon gave us a taste of how well they could perform with multi-channel sound and the Chimaera in its
stereo and
5.1 models brought high quality wireless audio to our desktop and Xbox 360. Without doubt though the stand out item from their audio products was the
Mako speakers, co-developed by THX.
The Razer Mako are one of the best products we have tested to date, and that has been 10 years worth of reviewing. In addition to that they are the best speakers in their category and quite a few price brackets above too.
So every time we hear of a new product from the audio division at Razer we get more than a little excited, but that could lead to extreme disappointment. Can their new Tiamat 7.1 headset... with true multi-channel sound meet our expectations or is this destined to disappoint offering a less desirable alternative than the virtual 7.1 headsets which are already on the market?
