Xigmatek Dark Knight SD1283 Night Hawk Edition Review

As with many manufacturers Xigmatek are well known for offering a wide range of product categories however unlike many they have managed to walk that fine line of offering quantity as well as quality. Their Elysium case for example is one of the best around and as we saw recently the new Tauro series PSU also impresses for mainstream users.

Recently Xigmatek also launched a new revision of their Dark Knight cooler, the Night Hawk Edition. Releasing a Dark Knight product at the moment has obvious advantages and today we find out if it lives up to the high quality we have come to expect from Xigmatek products.

Packaging and Bundle


Xigmatek use a box which gives us an image of the cooler on the front as well as listing some key information with a window in the centre showing off the fan. Inside the cooler is protected by foam with the bundled items separated off into another section.


Bundled with the cooler we get installation brackets and items for socket 775, 1155, 1156, 1366 and 2011 as well as AM2/3/FM1. Also included is the manual for AMD/Intel systems, some thermal paste and rubber sections for fan installation.


Also included is a 12cm Xigmatek branded fan which is rated for 1000-2000RPM. This is a 89.45CFM model with 4.1mm h2O of air Pressure and a 30.1dBA noise level. It uses a 4-pin motherboard connector and as well as using transparent plastic it features white LEDs in each corner.
