Roccat also recently released the HIRO gaming surface and a sample was included with our Kone XTD. The Hiro is packaged in a compact box with windows in the front and back which let us feel the surface. Measuring 350x250x2.5mm it has a water resistant coating to protect against spills.
The top surface is textured vulcanised silicon with Covert-Tech coating for ultra-quiet gliding and despite its appearance this is a soft pad with the bottom, blue section being a non-slip rubber. This rubber is power bonded to the top surface and corners rounded to minimise fraying over time and Roccat have tested it with their own mice as well as selections from Razer, Steelseries, Logitech and Microsoft.
